Waldorf Astoria China

This is a set of physical and eCards done for Waldorf Astoria China, for their 2018 mid-autumn festival celebration.

The concept for this card plays on the Chinese idiom 花好月圆, literally blooming flowers and a full moon, and which meaning roughly translates to perfect conjugal bliss, happiness, where the flowers are in full bloom and the moon is full and complete.

In this design, 花 is switched out for 华, which is similar in sound, and the first word in the Chinese name of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel - 华尔道夫酒店.

The physical set includes a card sleeve with the graphic of a halved flower, and the card with the graphic of a halved moon, done with a silver foil hot stamp treatment. When the card is pulled out from its sleeve, the graphics on the sleeve and card forms a complete circle, with half a flower and half a moon, and also the complete modified idiom.
